Enrichment Program 2009

Are you interested in Maths, Computing, Information Systems and Technology or Telecommunications?

The Enrichment Program is for you!

The Faculty of Informatics' Enrichment Program is designed to give you a valuable learning experience through its diverse range of activities.

Please note: the Information Systems and Technology along with the Engineering Series are suitable for Year 7 to 12 Students, the Computing series is available only to Year 9 to 12 Students, and the Maths series only to Year 11 and 12 students.

This is your chance to gain insight and practical experience through workshops and lectures at the University of Wollongong's main campus.

IMPORTANT: There are some changes to the program this year, as follows:

• Individual program numbers will be limited which means that you won’t be able to register in programs that are full, and
• program registration will be phased which means that, to attend all the programs, you will need to register more than once.

What does this mean? Each series of workshops will be opened for registration TWO WEEKS prior to its commencement date. For example:

• June and August Computing series registration will open on Friday 29 May
• August Information Systems and Technology series registration will open on Friday 24 July
• August Engineering series registration will open on Friday 31 July
• September Mathematics series registration will open Friday 21 August

Naturally to get the most out of the program you are encouraged to come regularly!

Friday Afternoon Engineering Schools

The Engineering Friday Afternoon School commences on August 14!

The lectures/workshops are delivered by staff and students from the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering.

The lectures/ workshops are run on Friday afternoons after school.

Those who attend are treated to a fun lecture, a hands-on workshop and light refreshments.

You will receive information prior to each event confirming your participation and providing you with further information relating to date, time, location and topic!

Computing Saturday Schools

The Computing Saturday School commences June 13!

Aimed at Years 9 - 12 students and presented by Informatics students and staff, this program will give you a unique insight into what can be done on computers through hands-on lab sessions at the University of Wollongong.

Light refreshments are provided to all participants.

Information Systems and Technology Saturday Afternoon Schools

The Information Systems and Technology Saturday afternoon School commences August 8!

Aimed at Years 7 - 12 students, the Information Systems and Technology Saturday Schools are focussed on the hands-on application of technology to the world community.

Mathematics Friday Afternoon Schools

The Mathematics Friday afternoon School commences September 4!

Aimed at Year 11 and 12 students, the Mathematics Saturday Schools are focussed on providing applications of the materials students will have studied at their High School to date, and providing motivation for the material to be covered in their final year of study.

To participate in this program simply Register online.

Once registered, you will be contacted with confirmation of your registration details, including date and time of your selected activities, within two weeks of the events being run.
